LOCAL ASIAN MUSICIANS FORM A NEW COLLECTIVE
Eastern Sound Collective
Meow
9 Edward Street, Te Aro, Wellington
30 May 2021
7pm - 11pm
The Eastern Sound Collective is announcing its first event to be held at Meow in Wellington on the evening of the 30th of May. The Eastern Sound Collective was formed at the end of 2020, by a small collective of Wellington based musicians with the aim of bringing together musicians of Asian and South Asian heritage together to build a support network and improve our representation in the music industry. For this first outing, the lineup includes the founding members of the collective, Miss Leading and Abrzy, as well as Sujai, Nam Chucks and Karnan Saba. Each artist has forged a solo career within the local music scene and here we are presenting our first event to promote a collective voice. With this event we also hope to reach out to more creatives that are working dislocated or in isolation to join our collective. The evening promises to be full of vibes promoting the collective energy of these artists.
